Nordsjøporthelga 2006

Since the road between Bulandet and Værlandet opened in December 2003, the two communities have arranged a weekend each summer filled with activities on both islands, to celebrate the road and the solidarity. Last year over 1000 people visited the marked on Saturday. That’s more than twice the inhabitants!

Agenda:

Friday, June 30^th

Værlandet:

20:00: Pub. The Irish/Scottish band "The Corner Boys" are playing.

Saturday, July 1^st

Værlandet:

09:30: Official opening of a new museum in a small boathouse

10:00 – 16:30:  Outdoor and indoor market with lots of stands in the harbour. Kayaking by Njord. Young people from Scotland will be entertaining with music.

Bulandet:

17:00 – 18:30: Dance party for the whole family. The museum "Temaparken" will be open during the dance party.

22:00 – 02:00: Dance party, age 15 and up

Sunday, July 2^nd

Bulandet:

11:00: Outdoor church service.

Afterwards: cafés and different cultural events in the harbour by the grocery store, kayaking.

More information will be given later when things are more settled.
