MESSAGE FROM OUT SKERRIES

Old and new technology working together

This summer, Steinar Bauge, a keen photographer from Askvoll was out to take photos of the lovely heather blooming in the nature reserve Sørværet at Værlandet.

Although Sørværet is a paradise for birds, animals and people, it is also an effective barrier for all sorts of stuff floating in the sea.

Hidden in the heather among other plastic items of various origin, a bottle appeared. The bottle contained a message from our neighbours in the west.

The message was sent by Mr John I Henderson seven years ago. Sadly Mr. Henderson has now passed away. But Steinar Bauge has been in touch with his son.
